Ancient clay lamps from the Early Bronze age discovered on archaeological excavations in Israel. Collectable artifacts from the early chapters of the book of Genesis. The clay oil lamps of this time are primitive, made with the corners of the bowl pinched for the wick to sit in.
The Early Bronze Age designates a period of time from before and during the lives of the biblical patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In the Early Bronze Age lamps were simple bowls, typically pinched on four sides to form four places for the wicks. Job may have been familiar with this type of lamp, as well, when he wrote, “When God watched over me, when His lamp shone upon my head, and when by His light I walked through darkness” (Job 29:2–3).
