Buy ‘Late bronze’ period authentic clay lamps from a dealer licensed by the Israel Antiquities Authority.
During the Late Bronze Age, the Israelites left Egypt under the leadership of Moses and returned to the Holy Land where they conquered Canaanite cities. They set up the tabernacle at Shiloh and worshiped God there. Lamps from this period are very similar to those from the Middle Bronze Age, but the lamps spout from the Late Bronze Age are more pinched, and the edges are rounded. “It came to pass … before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the Lord where the ark of God was, and while Samuel was lying down, that the Lord called to Samuel” (1 Samuel 3:3–4).
These lamps come from the time shortly after the Exodus when the Israelite’s were settling the land.
