Used to store drinking water inside homes. This type has a big handle, and the type of clay used for this vessel was designed specifically for keeping water cool during the summer months. This is a nicely decorated and very unique piece.

An extremely nice terracotta bowl excavated in Israel and dated 1st – 3rd century AD, (the Roman Period). The bowl measures 18.1 cm in diameter and 6cm high. The clay is an orange color with a red slip and there is a raised handle on the side.
