Iron Age II (850-550 BC) King David’s time oil lamp discovered in Samaria.

  • Very good condition.

A great piece from everyday life in Israel from the first temple period time of King David!

In the early Iron Age, oil lamps retained their former shape through the outward tenancy of the folded rim was exaggerated. The rim was also becoming wider and flatter and thus the pinching led to a deeper and higher spout.

For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life. (Proverbs 6:23)
