Description

Late Bronze Age Clay Bilbil (1550-1200 B.C.) used for medicine.

This type of medicine jug was made in Cyprus and imported to Israel during the Late Bronze.  The long, narrow neck indicates that it was used for either medicine or another very precious liquid.  Some scholars have suggested that it was used for opium because of its shape, but this is still highly debated.
