Beautifully preserved ancient Roman Glass Jar discovered in Jerusalem.

Among the different Roman Glass discovered in the Holy Land, this type of ‘table glass jug’ is notable for its pleasing and elegant form. This beautiful Roman Glass jug has elongated proportions, an easily held colored handle.

Before the Roman period, glass was made with a sand core mold, and was extremely expensive. During the Roman period, glass blowing was invented, which changed the entire glass industry. Glass became much more common.

Used in Homes 3rd century AD Jerusalem area.
