Beautifully preserved Roman Glass Vase discovered in Jerusalem.

Among the different Glass discovered in the Israel, this type of ‘table glass jug’ is notable for its pleasing and elegant form. This beautiful Roman Glass jug has elongated proportions, an easily held colored handle.

Before the Roman period glass was made with a sand core mold, and was extremely expensive. During the glass blowing was invented, which changed the entire glass industry. Glass became much more common.

Used in 3rd century AD homes in the Jerusalem area.

This unique Ancient glass has beautiful ‘patina’ – It was found half in soil and the other side was in touched by air creating this patina that is very rare.
