 Second Temple period ancient Roman glass plate discovered during archaeological excavations in Jerusalem, Israel.

We can see from the discoveries around ancient Roman knights digs that these soldiers lived a life of great luxury.

Plate diameter: 11.4″ / 29 cm.
Excellent patina.

Before the Roman period, glass was made with a sand core mold, and was extremely expensive. During the Roman period, glass blowing was invented, which changed the entire glass industry. Glass became much more common and gradually become more accessible to everyday people.
