Festus was the Roman procurator/governor of Judea from 59-62 AD and is mentioned in Acts 25 as one of the governors who listened to Paul’s testimony while on trial in Caesarea. The leaders in Jerusalem were wanting to attack Paul. But Festus did not cooperate with their plans and instead made the Jewish leaders come up to Caesarea with him to hear Paul’s trial.
