Iron Age II clay spice jug (925-586 B.C.) discovered on an archeological dig in Jerusalem.
Height: 9 cm.
This is an excellent piece with two small handles which were used to hang the container in the air. It most likely contained something precious, like spice. This a great piece to demonstrate the daily life and culture of the ancient Israelite’s.
