My first experience in Israel was in the summer of 2019 on an archaeological excavation a short distance outside of Jerusalem. I discovered Zak’s Antiquities while exploring the Old City of Jerusalem and found Zak to be one of the kindest individuals I have ever met who is willing to help in any way he is able.

As it turns out, everyone I know who had previously been to Jerusalem knows of Zak and holds the same opinion of him. Zak is the most hospitable person in all of Jerusalem. He will go out of his way to make you feel at home and find the perfect item for you to take home to remember your adventures.

I have purchased several antiquities from Zak and have never been disappointed with the service, price or item. I do highly recommend contacting or visiting Zak, and, if you are lucky, he might have some delicious tea for you while you browse his impeccable selection looking for that perfect piece of history.

“Since 2004, my wife and I have been buying antiquities from Zak. I remember my first oil lamp from the Hasmonean period, how shocking it was to hold in my hand something that is from over 2000 years ago. It was in perfect condition, that means it was in use throughout the New Testament period as Zak told me.

Immediately I thought of Jesus’ parable of the ten virgins, maybe some of them were holding similar oil lamps. With Zak’s help we were able to take the oil lamp home with a price we can afford.

However, the parable talks about the wise ones carrying extra oil with them, so the following year with Zak’s help we bought an oil jar from the Herodian period. Ever since we have purchased many more pieces from Zak and each piece takes modern Bible readers back into the biblical period, into a different world.

My students ask questions like: what was it like to be a Jew in the First Century? How do they understand Jesus’ Word? I would take these opportunities to share with them how we must see and hear Jesus from the eyes and ears of the Jewish people in the First Century, understand Jesus’ Word in that period and then we can see how to apply in our world today.”

“Many of us would love to have an artifact from Israel that dates back to biblical times. Unfortunately, there are a lot of counterfeits floating around today. So, how are we to know who to trust? I was referred to Zak Mishriky who has an antiquities shop in Jerusalem. He came highly recommended. Over the past three years, I have purchased several antiquities from Zak, mostly coins, and I could not be more pleased with the excellent products and service I have received from him. So, if you would like to own something from the Holy Land in biblical times, I highly recommend that you contact Zak!”

In the heart of Jerusalem’s old town there is a quaint little shop called Zacks treasures. Every time I get a chance to travel to The land of the Bible, I always make it a point to stop and look at all of his ancient treasures. There are a number of shops throughout the old city, but there is only one that I trust to buy artifacts. I have purchased a number of unique items that I use as illustrations while preaching. If I’m preaching on the widows offering, I can show the crowd the humble coin given from her poverty. If I’m preaching on being a light in the dark world I can hold up my first century oil lamp. When Jesus said who’s inscription is on this coin I can hold up the first century denarius and say render to Caesar those things that bear his image and give to God those things that bear his. If you are in Jerusalem you must meet my friend Zack and take home one of your own special treasures .

I highly recommend Zak’s Jerusalem Gifts. I have made many purchases over the past 7 years. I have picked merchandise up in person, and have had items shipped to the U.S.. I have purchased both small and large quantities of olive wood ornaments, nativities, roman glass, jewelry, and widow’s mites. I have received very fair prices and shipping on time. I have met the owner and consider him trustworthy. He is a licensed antiquities dealer, and is very knowledgeable about the products. I bring a group of people to Jerusalem every year, and I always take them to meet Zak and visit his shop, because they will always get quality items at a fair and honest price from a friendly face.

My interests in teaching the Bible led me into archaeology, and that ultimately led me to an interest in antiquities. While I have used replicas and do use replicas of artifacts that are in museums (e.g., the Cyrus Cylinder, Nabonidus Chronicle, etc.), I find that my students get much more excited if I can let them experience an authentic artifact from Bible times. Also, some of the pieces I have on display in my home and office have served as nice conversation starters. Since 2005, Zak has been one of my favorite go-to guys to add items to my teaching and display collection. He offers friendly and knowledgeable service and items at fair prices.
