Authentic Islamic Abbasid clay oil lamp.

Discovered in Lod (south of Tel Aviv).

Length: 3.7″ / 9.5 cm.

Very nice artistically decorated.

Momentous events took place with the Muslim reign of the region in the seventh century A.D. This marked the beginning of a historical-cultural process which led to the profound changes in Israel and it’s material culture. These events did not leave an immediate impression on the style of small artifacts, as the craftsmen continued to create in accordance with tradition.
