Description
Iron Age Red Perfume Juglet – Time of Kind David
Ancient pottery has a terra-cotta color, due to the color of the clay from which it was made. However, some vessels, such as this small red perfume jug, had a unique solid red color. This juglet dates to the Iron Age I, the period in which King Solomon lived. It is a reminder of the wealth and splendor of Solomon’s kingdom.
“Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the Queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.” – 1 Kings 10:10
This black perfume juglet has a rounded base that widens quickly to the widest point of the vessel. It tapers to the base of the rim, which flares slightly at the top. A small handle stretches from the shoulder of the juglet to the neck.
Height: 5″ Inches / 13 Cm.
