Slingstone – Ancient Warfare Weapon

The sling was a valuable ancient weapon. It was a long-range weapon with a high degree of precision. Although any stone could be used in a sling, well-equipped armies carried flint nodules that they had chipped into spheres. This allowed for greater precision in slinging. An ancient flint slingstone such as this one could cause a great deal of damage in the hands of an expert slinger.

“Among all this people were seven hundred select men who could sling a stone at a hair’s breadth and not miss.” – Judges 20:16

This ancient flint slingstone was hand-chipped in antiquity into its current spherical shape. A flat spot on one side of the slingstone prevented it from rolling away while a soldier stacked it neatly with other slingstones.

Diameter: 3″ Inches / 7 cm.
